who graciously gave their interpretations of the theme in which this exhibition was based upon. The participants have, in their own right, exercised their creative freedom to enable the viewers to challenge their own preemptive notions of what constitutes the labels of "Freaks" and "Creeps."From the words of Rebecca Rising, a Circus Arts performer and player in the San Francisco Underground:
"This is a call to action for all artists, freaks, daredevils and dreamers brave enough to defy limitations and redefine reality. In an age where hopeful landscapes dwindle and the overcrowded residents of reality work more and dream less, it falls on us to restore their faith that miracles, madness, and magic do exist. Recognizing the role YOU can play is the first step toward creating change in the world. This change becomes revolutionary when you accept the part you can play. From Side-Show to Freak-Show, the three-ring circus is evolving. Welcome to the Circus Revolution: Are you revolving? Your life is an occasion! Rise to it! Evolve. Believe. Inspire. Repeat."
